Burns & Levinson has a long tradition of community service and pro bono legal representation of clients with limited means.
In the area of community service, the firm focuses on K through 12 education in traditional and charter public schools with predominantly minority student populations. The Boston office has a long-term partnership with Brighton High School for which it was recently honored by the Boston Bar Association. (2005 BBA's Volunteer Leadership award.) In the fall of 2005, the attorneys of Perkins Smith & Cohen launched the Power of an Idea® Scholarship Contest. Boston Public schools have been invited to particpate in this contest.
The firm's pro bono activities include both litigation and regulatory and business law support for community organizations.
