Our Practices

Executive Advocacy

Our Executive Advocacy Group has raised the bar for what individual clients can and should expect from the firms that represent them. We represent our individual clients effectively and aggressively so as to maximize immediate and long-term career, financial and personal advantage. And we make a point of being available to our individual clients when and as required — providing them the time and attention other firms reserve for their corporate clients.

Cross-Disciplinary Approach

Increasingly, executive and professionals face ancillary issues that warrant independent advice from attorneys with expertise in numerous disciplines — such as Sarbanes Oxley and corporate compliance, employment, securities, tax, and even estate planning and domestic relations, to name a few. To meet the demand of these cross-disciplinary needs, our Firm established the Executive Advocacy Group, which calls upon the expertise of attorneys in relevant practice areas. This approach allows our clients to take advantage of one or more of the broad range of legal resources offered at our Firm. Our Executive Advocacy Group attorneys are fluent in the issues specific to executives and professionals, both in transactional matters and in litigation.

Our Clients

Our clients include business executives, scientists, doctors, engineers, analysts, sports coaches and professors with agendas that are regional, national and international in scope. We also represent company founders in pre-and post-IPO situations, and we work with clients both in the United States and abroad. We represent CEOs and top-tier executives, as well as those reporting to them.

Our Expertise

Our Executive Advocacy Group attorneys are at the forefront of issues that impact executives and professionals, and we have pursued those issues aggressively and successfully in negotiations, in mediation, in arbitration and in court. We provide innovative strategies such as the application of commercial law principals to executive employment agreements, the application of employment law principals to partnerships and closely held corporations, the interpretation of cause and change of control in executive severance provisions, and the application of constructive discharge doctrine to executive employment. We also assist executives transition into founders and principals.

Our expertise includes executive employment, retention, change of control and severance agreements; non-competition, non-solicitation and trade secret agreements; executive's rights and legal responsibilities; executive compensation and bankruptcy preference strategies; post-employment consulting cooperation agreements; formation and start-up of businesses; and estate, tax and retirement planning.
