Mark Nowak is a partner and member of the Trusts & Estates group. He is an AV rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell. Prior to joining Burns & Levinson LLP, he was a partner and chair of the Personal Law Group at Sherin and Lodgen LLP, in Boston. Mark’s practice focuses on strategic estate and tax planning, estate and trust administration, the operation of nonprofit organizations, and business succession planning. Additionally, he serves as a fiduciary for clients, helping to insure the proper implementation of their plans.

Mark has been a contributing author of the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) practice manual "Drafting Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts" since its inception. He was selected by MCLE to serve as one of the three co-editors in chief of the manual's revisions and has served in that capacity through the 2022 revisions. Mark has also been published in legal and business journals both regionally and nationally, and has lectured on estate planning topics. He has served as a member of the Boston College Estate Planning Council, as a member of the Junior Achievement Endowment Initiative Committee and a trustee of the Clinton Hospital Foundation and on other non-profit entities.

Mark is a manager of Burns & Levinson Asset Management, LLC, and a member of its Investment Policy Committee. He is a registered investment advisor representative.
