Welcome Back to CannaBusiness Advisory

March 23, 2022

Readers, welcome back to the CannaBusiness Advisory blog! It has been a busy last few months as we took a short hiatus from publishing weekly posts. We first launched CannaBusiness Advisory in July 2017, and late last year we hit pause to re-focus our content and manage some large initiatives in our firm’s cannabis business and law advisory practice. Burns & Levinson’s 2021 Annual State of the Cannabis Industry Conference was our biggest and most successful event since we kicked off the conference series five years ago. This was our first in-person cannabis event in Boston since the beginning of the pandemic, and our team was proud to have nearly 200 in-person attendees (vaccinations were required), 60 virtual attendees, 23 expert speakers, and countless connections made. We are hard at work planning our 2022 conference, and in the meantime you can revisit last years’ panels on our YouTube channel.

The spring season is a time of renewal and revitalization. Just as NECANN held its first live Boston event this past weekend, reinvigorating the local cannabis community with the possibilities of the future, we are excited to see where future blog posts take us and our readers with respect to content and perspective.

  • Expect posts from familiar faces as well as new perspectives from our team. The Burns & Levinson Cannabis Business & Law Advisory Group has expanded with new hires and we’re excited to read their thoughts on opportunities and issues facing the cannabis industry. In the last four months, we have hired a new partner in our group, Max Borg, as well as a Senior Associate, Doug Ginn.
  • We will have regular blog posts from attorneys in different practice groups across the firm, detailing their thoughts on our constantly growing industry. Expect to see perspectives from our litigation, intellectual property, employment, and tax attorneys in the coming months. In addition, we will begin to introduce guest blog posts from other groups and companies who are essential to the cannabis ecosystem. Last week, we launched our new Spotlight Series, in which we feature expert perspectives from Burns & Levinson clients and contacts who are blazing new trails in the cannabis market. Stay tuned each month for a new Q&A.
  • We will continue to highlight emerging opportunities, related businesses, developing technologies, legal and public policy initiatives and visionary professionals, serving as a resource for anyone seeking relevant information about entering, operating or investing in the market.

Opportunities in the cannabis market are endless – as is our team’s deep well of knowledge and experience in the space. We look forward to cutting through the haze of the industry and sharing insights with our network!
