Burns & Levinson Elevates Shawn Foley to Partner

Boston, MA, March 18, 2021 – Burns & Levinson LLP has elevated Shawn Foley to the firm’s partnership effective March 1. Foley, who had previously been of counsel, is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, where he focuses his practice on providing transactional IP advice to a variety of clients in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries.

In addition to designing and implementing global patent strategies, Foley routinely conducts due diligence and freedom to operate studies for Fortune 500 companies. He has extensive experience with traditional small molecule therapeutics and biological therapeutics alike. Current areas of work include SARS Co-V diagnosis and therapy, therapeutic mRNAs and vaccine formulations, PROTACs, CAR T/TCR, and ADCs. Foley also represents clients in the field of personal care compositions. Foley’s speaking engagements have included presentations at the CAR-TCR Summit (Boston and Shanghai), 8th Annual World Bispecific Summit, Boston Entrepreneurs’ Network and Massachusetts Life Sciences Innovation (MALSI) Day. Foley began his career as an examiner with the U.S. Patent Office. He also served as in-house counsel for an agricultural biotechnology research company. He received his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law and his B.A. in biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.
