Burns represented Volicon from its 2004 inception to successful exit and acquisition by Verizon/AOL in March 2016. The co-founders came to Burns looking for advice on how to get their business idea – providing enterprise media intelligence solutions for broadcasters, networks, cable operators, and governments – off the ground.
As Volicon’s legal and business advisors, there were few strategic issues we did not traverse together – incorporation, securing IP protection, fundraising, global expansion, growth through acquisition, and everything in between. In the early stages of Volicon’s formation, we deferred our legal costs so that our client could focus resources on building its infrastructure. When it came time to raise capital, Burns successfully introduced the founders to our deep network to help fund the company. Every step of the way, we put our vast expertise and network of contacts to work for Volicon to help it realize its full potential and succeed.
