College of Law Practice Management Elects Burns & Levinson Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer

May 14, 2013

Burns & Levinson LLP is proud to announce that the firm’s Managing Partner, David P. Rosenblatt, and Chief Operating Officer, Paul R. Morton, have been elected as Fellows in the College of Law Practice Management. They will be celebrated and inducted at the College’s annual Futures Conference in Chicago on October 4-5, 2013. Unassociated with any bar association, the College of Law Practice Management (COLPM) formally recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the law practice management profession over a period of not less than ten years. Mr. Rosenblatt has been the Managing Partner of Burns & Levinson for over fifteen years and has been an active leader in local bar associations and community organizations. Mr. Morton has been managing and leading law firms for over thirty years and has served in numerous leadership roles in the Association of Legal Administrators. “It is quite an honor to be asked to join this ‘all-star’ roster of leaders in the law firm management field,” said Mr. Rosenblatt. This is the first year in which the College has elected a firm’s Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer at the same time. Mr. Rosenblatt and Mr. Morton comprise one of only two “teams” achieving the honor together in 2013. “While each was elected on their individual merits,” said John Michalik, former Executive Director of the Association of Legal Administrators and Trustee of COLPM, “this emphasizes the importance of the Managing Partner-Administrator relationship.” “The College is made up of lawyers, management personnel, consultants, teachers and others who have spent their careers in the law,” said Mr. Morton. “It is exciting to be included in their ranks and to have the opportunity to focus on the future off the profession. The fact that David and I were both elected in the same year is recognition that teamwork creates great results.” The College of Law Practice Management was formed in 1994 to honor and recognize distinguished law practice management professionals, to set standards of achievement for others in the profession, and to fund and assist projects that enhance the highest quality of law practice management. Currently, there are only approximately 200 Fellows around the world.
