Burns & Levinson has bolstered its Intellectual Property and Real Estate groups with the hire of attorneys Shawn P. Foley and Laura Schumacher.

"Shawn and Laura both bring unique experience with them," said Managing Partner David P. Rosenblatt. "Shawn's patent experience will bolster our flourishing Intellectual Property group and Laura's real estate background will enhance the capabilities of our Real Estate group. We're excited to have them on board."

Shawn P. Foley joins the Intellectual Property group as an of counsel. He represents major pharmaceutical and other Fortune 500 companies, medium-sized and generic drug companies, start-ups, universities and non-profit organizations in patent procurement. He received a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law and a B.A. in biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.

Laura Schumacher joins the Real Estate group as an associate. She focuses on residential real estate conveyancing, including resolving complex title issues, handling transfers of estate properties and managing closings. She received a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. in economics from Georgetown University.
