Rodney Bedow

Partner | Co-Chair, Tax, Tax Controversy & Litigation

overview

Rodney Bedow is, first and foremost, a problem solver. He solves intricate and costly issues arising under the Internal Revenue Code and the tax laws of the various states. Rodney’s tax practice focuses on planning and transactions involving C corporations, S corporations, and partnerships. He has an extensive background in U.S. international taxation—inbound and outbound. Rodney has significant experience with reorganizations, acquisitions, divestitures, liquidations, financings, and commercial deals in domestic and cross-border contexts.

“The tax law does not always cause a reasonable or rational result, and its application is not intuitive. This creates many complex problems to solve for clients,” Rodney says. “It’s an area of law driven by economic policy and requires knowledge and interpretation of statutes, cases, administrative guidance, rulings, and the underlying policy objectives. There is much to learn, keep abreast of, think about, and theorize about. I pride myself on sorting out the tax law puzzle and overlaying it on a client’s fact pattern to solve for the answer, which is frequently unique to their facts, circumstances, and goals.”
