overview
As the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager, Val develops and oversees initiatives driving and supporting the firm’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. This includes developing relationships with local DEI and industry leaders to expand the firm’s involvement in the community, as well as coordinating firm-wide programming and speaker presentations highlighting equity within the workplace and beyond. Val partners with Burns & Levinson’s DEI Board of Directors and collaborates with individuals and groups across the firm to foster DEI progress.
Throughout Val’s 15-year tenure with the firm in a variety of roles, she has worked with and across several departments and understands the importance of developing talent within an equitable workplace. She connects individuals with the appropriate resources and internal affinity groups to cultivate collaboration and inclusion, and her favorite aspect of her role is listening to and amplifying the voices of others.
Born and raised in Boston, Val is a proud, die-hard New England sports fan.

community involvement
In collaboration with the firm’s Racial Justice Task Force, Val organized and led Burns & Levinson’s participation in A Day for Democracy. The non-partisan initiative encourages U.S. employers to take action to increase voter registration and participation by providing employees with time off to vote.
