Mary Kate Geraghty is an experienced trial lawyer and trusted business advisor, who handles complex business and employment litigation throughout the federal and state courts and administrative agencies in New England and nationally. She has experience advising companies and individuals in a broad range of industries, including financial services, chemical manufacturing, higher education, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and real estate. Her relevant cases include, among other things, contract disputes, complex indemnification issues, environmental, health and safety litigation, intellectual property matters, Title IX issues, and government investigations.
Mary Kate also counsels companies and individuals on employment issues, including severance and other contract matters, OSHA, Title VII, ADA and USERRA issues and other discrimination claims. She has litigated a wide range of cases involving employment issues in Massachusetts courts, in arbitration, and before the EEOC and Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
No matter what court or phase of civil litigation her clients find themselves in, Mary Kate is prepared to advise on case analysis and strategy, discovery, trial preparation, trial and arbitration, settlement and appeals.
Prior to joining Burns & Levinson, Mary Kate served as a law clerk to the Honorable Rosemarie Annunziata on the Virginia Court of Appeals, practiced in Washington, D.C., and worked at a national litigation firm in Boston.
