As a former criminal prosecutor, seasoned business litigator and employment attorney, Paul Mastrocola is a trusted advisor and problem solver. He understands that legal issues are distractions from our clients' focus on their businesses. Paul works tirelessly to resolve matters effectively, efficiently and in the best interest of the businesses and individuals that place their confidence in him.
Paul's practice is based in business and commercial law, including contract, business tort, securities, employment, environmental and real estate litigation. In his employment practice, Paul counsels clients in connection with negotiation and drafting of employment, severance, noncompetition and nondisclosure agreements. He also advises companies and individuals relating to hiring, discipline and termination of employees.
As a former Middlesex County Assistant District Attorney, Paul has extensive criminal law and trial experience. He prosecuted a wide variety of matters, including fraud and civil rights cases. At Burns & Levinson, Paul represents companies, business executives and other professionals in federal and state criminal and regulatory government investigations, including matters investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Paul defends clients in prosecutions in federal and state courts. He also leads and conducts internal investigations for public and private companies. Paul is uniquely qualified to represent clients involved in complex parallel criminal and civil disputes, including matters with related employment issues.
In addition, Paul is a certified civil mediator. He acts as a neutral to assist companies and individuals involved in business disputes to fairly and quickly reach mutually agreed settlements.
Paul also is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
