Overview

Taylor is an associate in the Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution group. Before joining Burns & Levinson, Taylor represented the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an assistant district attorney at the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. During her time there, Taylor conducted over thirty jury trials in the district and superior court. She prosecuted high-risk cases of domestic violence as well as cases involving firearms and illegal narcotics. Taylor has experience cross-examining medical and mental health experts. She wrote memoranda and conducted evidentiary motions. Her background also includes investigating and presenting cases for indictment before grand juries.

Taylor was the 2018 recipient of the Scott Harshbarger Award of Public Service, an award presented to one or more members of the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office for the creation, implementation, or involvement in prevention and intervention efforts. She received this award for her role in the Mental Health Court at the Cambridge District Court, where she worked to obtain the most just outcome for mentally ill defendants and the victims of their crimes.

  • In mental health court, collaborating with community partners to determine the best probationary and treatment plan for defendants.
  • Conducting fact-stipulated bench trials regarding the criminal responsibility of the defendant.
  • Preparing briefs and arguing before the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
