Andrea E. Nelson

Partner

overview

A partner in the firm’s Divorce & Family Law Litigation Group, Andrea E. Nelson works with a wide range of clients involved in divorce and family law matters. Her practice focuses on divorce, paternity, child custody, support, modification, and contempt matters. Andrea also routinely negotiates and drafts prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

Andrea has extensive litigation experience and is a zealous advocate and litigator. She recognizes that family law matters, particularly hotly contested ones, can become expensive – both financially and emotionally. She works with many clients to settle matters outside the court system, often using alternative dispute resolution formats, thereby reducing the financial and emotional toll excessive litigation may take.

experience

As a partner in the firm’s Private Client Group, Andrea works with a wide range of clients involved in family and probate law matters. Drawing on her experience as a judicial law clerk for a family law judge following her graduation from law school, Andrea helps clients navigate the Probate and Family Court system with an intimate understanding of what family law judges expect, which allows her to obtain the best results possible for her clients.

Andrea works closely with her clients to understand their unique needs and goals. She also strives to develop creative solutions to their complex family law issues. Recognizing the immense emotional toll that any family or probate matter has on a client, Andrea understands that the legal support she provides to clients is equally as important as the emotional support she provides during the difficult times.
