Burns & Levinson Partner Brian Bixby Named Treasurer of the MA Clients’ Security Board

Boston, MA, February 7, 2023 – Burns & Levinson announced today that partner Brian Bixby has been named Treasurer of the Massachusetts Clients’ Security Board (CSB), which works to preserve the public’s trust in the legal profession by reimbursing client-victims who have suffered financial losses due to misappropriations by Massachusetts lawyers. Bixby was appointed to serve a five-year term as a Board Member on the CSB, which is funded by Massachusetts Bar members through licensing fees, by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in 2020.

Bixby has had an illustrious career. He chaired Burns & Levinson’s Private Client Group for 25 years and served for many years as head of the firm’s Fiduciary Litigation Department. Throughout his esteemed career, Bixby has earned the reputation as the go-to lawyer for some of the most challenging probate and trust cases. His practice is focused on all aspects of estate planning, fiduciary administration, probate court litigation, and family law, and he often serves as an expert witness at trials.

Bixby serves as a Board Member for the Family Firm Institute, New England Chapter. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and a member of ACTEC’s Fiduciary Litigation Committee. He was the past President of the American Inns of Probate and Family Court. He received his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and his A.B. from Brown University.
