Press Release

Chambers USA Ranks Burns & Levinson Attorney for Labor & Employment Law

September 6, 2011

Burns & Levinson is pleased to announce the esteemed Chambers USA 2011 Guide has recognized attorney Ellen J. Zucker as a “Notable Practitioner” in the Massachusetts Labor & Employment: Mainly Plaintiffs Representation category. The Chambers Guide is one of the leading such guides for the legal profession, drawing its lists of recommended counsel largely from interviews with clients at major national companies. Chamber’s Guides include editorial comment based on market research and quotes from client interviews.

Upon hearing of the Chambers’ recognition, Ms. Zucker said: “It is a great honor to be recognized by Chambers USA and it is gratifying to think that clients – and maybe even a few adversaries – respect what I do as I an attorney in grappling with the situations in which my clients find themselves and helping them either navigate the litigation process successfully or resolve disputes in a way that achieves their goals.”

Ms. Zucker recently celebrated a significant victory for her client. In the case of Monteiro v. City of Cambridge, Ms. Zucker represented the plaintiff, a former employee who prevailed at trial and on appeal on her claim of workplace retaliation and who now, with the legal challenges behind her, stands to receive an award of damages of about $8 million.
