Debra R. Silberstein Joins Burns & Levinson

January 7, 2016

Debra Rahmin Silberstein has joined Burns & Levinson as a partner in the Private Client group. Prior to joining Burns & Levinson, Debra, who specializes in trusts and estates, tax-related matters and elder law, was in private practice for more than 25 years. “We’re excited to welcome Deb to the firm,” said Burns & Levinson Managing Partner David Rosenblatt. “Her depth of experience from her many years in private practice will be a great asset to our Private Client group.” Debra is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, currently serving on the Probate Law Section Council, and is a well-known member of her local bar, the Lawrence Bar Association, as well as the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys. She regularly writes and publishes on estate planning and tax policy matters. “The opportunity to join Burns & Levinson will enable me to offer my current clients a broader range of legal services, while providing an enhanced infrastructure so that I can do more of the work I enjoy,” said Debra. Debra is a trustee of the Lawrence General Hospital, currently serving as chair-elect, and a member of the Anti-Defamation League’s New England Regional board and the Latino-Jewish Roundtable. She is a past director of the Women’s Resource Center’s Legal Access Project, which provides legal services to victims of domestic violence, and previously served as a director of TAVAH, an organization that provides support for senior citizens to stay in their homes. Debra received a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and a Ph.D. in social policy from the Heller School at Brandeis University, in addition to a B.A. in economics from Syracuse University. As of January 1, and in conjunction with Debra’s arrival, Burns & Levinson’s North Shore office has relocated to 69 Park Street in Andover, Massachusetts. Burns & Levinson’s Private Client group advises individuals at points in life when personal matters and relationships require sensitive and strategic legal counsel. For many, these private issues are complicated by business ownerships, earned or inherited wealth and diverse asset management obligations.
