Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Honors Burns & Levinson Attorney Laura R. Studen as Top Woman of Law

Burns & Levinson is pleased to announce that Attorney Laura R. Studen has been selected as a Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly 2013 Top Women of Law. Ms. Studen was recognized on October 31, 2013 at Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s 6th Annual Top Women of Law awards event, which celebrates a select group of women attorneys who have made great professional strides and demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in private practice, the corporate arena and social advocacy.

Ms. Studen is a partner in Burns & Levinson’s Business Litigation; Labor, Employment & Employee Benefits; and Divorce & Family Law Groups. Representing both corporations and individuals, Ms. Studen concentrates her practice in employment law, business litigation, and family and probate law. For over 20 years, she has effectively handled litigation involving employment matters including discrimination, wrongful discharge, workplace harassment, executive compensation and employment contract negotiations. Additionally, Ms. Studen is a fellow of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation and a member of the Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers. Previously, she taught Employment Law and Family Law as an adjunct faculty member at the New England School of Law, and she frequently participates as faculty for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, and other groups on employment law and family law continuing education topics.

Ms. Studen has been continuously selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® (2006-2014) in the fields of Individual Employment Law, Management Employment Law, and Labor & Employment Litigation. She has also been selected for inclusion in Massachusetts Super Lawyers® (2004-2012). In September 2011, Ms. Studen was identified as being in the top 5% of all recognized professionals in America with the 2011 Inaugural Selection of “America’s Most Honored Professionals” Award.

Ms. Studen tried her first case in 1983 and tried numerous cases over the course of her career in a variety of courts including the Federal District Court and State Superior Probate courts, federal, court, state court and First Circuit Court of Appeals.
