Peter Durning is a seasoned environmental attorney with a focus on water- and wetlands-related matters, including litigation, enforcement defense, land use, and permitting. He has extensive experience in wetlands adjudicatory appeals; hearings before the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection; zoning disputes; appellate work; U.S. Environmental Protection Agency enforcement actions; alternative dispute resolution; solid waste site assignment hearings; zoning cases; citizen suits regarding stormwater discharges; and business and transactional consulting, as well as local, state, and federal permit proceedings and appeals. Additionally, Peter performs environmental due diligence for real estate transactions, development contracts, and corporate transactions.

Public water suppliers are a core element of his client base in the environmental practice, and he also works with high-net-worth individuals, renewable energy facility investors, small businesses, and municipalities.
