overview
Sarah Oster Kelly is an attorney in the Private Client Group, concentrating her practice on Divorce and Family Law, Probate and Fiduciary Litigation, and Trusts and Estates. In Family Court, she specializes in includes divorce, alimony, child custody, child support, relocation, and other family court litigation.
Sarah is a thoughtful listener, allowing her to capture all the information needed to build a sophisticated strategy to meet her clients' goals. She provides realistic expectations of the judicial process and outlines exactly what she and the client need to do, minimizing the uncertainty her clients face in their family law matters. Clients hire her to be their voice in the courthouse, their proverbial boxer in the ring, and she works relentlessly to get her clients the best possible outcome in their case. “What motivates me to excel in my practice is the father who stops me in the grocery store to thank me three years after obtaining him sole custody and placement of his son. It’s the mother who thanks me for helping her obtain guardianship of her child with special needs. Part of my role is assisting clients in their most difficult times, and I like to think I shepherd clients through the court process and guide them toward a brighter future.”
Sarah is bilingual and provides legal counsel to both Spanish and English-speaking clients. Outside of work, she has been on the Board of Directors for the Northern Rhode Island Boys and Girls Club for almost a decade. She also is on the Rhode Island Bar Association Executive Board and Co-Chair of the Rhode Island Bar Association Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
