Burns & Levinson Launches New Blog, LEX INDICIUM

June 18, 2012

Boston based law firm Burns & Levinson LLP is proud to announce the launch of a new blog, “LEX INDICIUM,” published by partner Deborah Peckham. Drawing from nearly 20 years of practicing in intellectual property law, Ms. Peckham designed the blog to explore the laws and rights that apply to data and information. “My passion and interest have been drawn to practicing law by fundamental questions such as, ‘Who owns or should own information? Should it be free or should it be exploitable and monopolized and monetized? And which answers lead to the greatest good for society?'” Ms. Peckham explains. “With this blog I’ll explore these and other questions, and have a little fun commenting on current events involving digital technology and other intellectual property matters.” With LEX INDICIUM, Ms. Peckham joins the blogosphere with her colleagues Nancy Van Tine (Massachusetts Divorce Law Monitor) and Shepard Davidson (The In-House Advisor). Deborah Peckham is a partner and co-chair of Burns & Levinson’s Intellectual Property Group. In her practice she provides intellectual property counseling and enforcement to clients, with a focus on strategic acquisition and maintenance of domestic and international intellectual property assets, including trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Ms. Peckham’s practice also encompasses privacy, data protection and information law issues. She represents clients in a variety of industries, including high-tech, internet and e-commerce companies, including start-ups and venture backed entities. She often works with companies in computer software and internet-related issues, as well as computer and internet gaming issues. Ms. Peckham’s litigation experience includes trademark, patent, copyright, counterfeiting and general commercial disputes.
