"Lawyering done well is an art form. I am proud to say that we have lots of artists at Burns & Levinson."
David Rosenblatt has served as Burns & Levinson’s Managing Partner since 1998. In that role, David oversees all aspects of the firm’s operations and works with the Executive Committee to set strategic objectives for the firm. David has also been Chairman of the firm’s Environmental Group since its inception in 1989. He is also a member of the Real Estate Group.
David learned environmental law from the "ground up," beginning his practice when most the major environmental laws were passed in the 1980s. His 30-plus years of experience in helping clients comply and work with the extensive web of environmental laws and regulations makes David a go-to lawyer for a wide range of environmental issues confronting businesses, real estate developers and property owners.
David’s practice involves all phases of environmental law, including litigation, negotiation, permitting, and resolving hazardous waste, solid waste, air and water issues in real estate and corporate transactions. He frequently appears before the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection on a wide range of environmental matters.
David is particularly experienced in representing businesses and large defense groups in litigation and negotiation in complex multi-party EPA Superfund cases. He has served as common and lead counsel to defense groups for Superfund sites located throughout New England and in other parts of the country. Mr. Rosenblatt’s expertise also includes representing buyers, sellers, and financiers of contaminated property in which he functions to structure and negotiate agreements that address the environmental liabilities in such a way that transactions can proceed.
David frequently speaks at banking and industry seminars, and he has authored numerous articles for trade publications, newspapers, and journals relating to environmental law.
